Haifa Wehbe: Pure Charm !

She's not American, nor Canadian, French or Australian; she's Lebanese... you know, Lebanon, the small but beautiful country in the Middle-East (surrounded by "very friendly" neighbors).

Why I wanted to talk about this Lebanese woman? just look at the pic :-)

Haifa Wehbe first entered beauty pageants at age 16 and a few years later earned runner-up status in the 1995 Miss Lebanon contest. The success led to many fashion shows seeking her inclusion and appearances in over 100 magazines.

Her combination of charm, presence, elegance, and allure led to her fans and the Rotana music company to convince her to pursue a singing career. Most of her music features a fusion of Western-Gypsy Kings style with Arabic rhythms, a trend common in today's Arab music scene.

I can't believe this is Jenny !

It's been sometime since I last heard such a nice cool song. Jenny says "I can't believe this is me" and I answer her "Me neither!". It's really such a nice song and even if you're not a J.Lo fan, you need to listen to this song... it's really different !

And don't think about her a** while you're listening to her song; just focus on the song :-)

Daniel Craig the 6th James Bond ! I'm shocked !!!

I usually write only about Music News & Events, but I decided to write about the selection of the new James Bond guy because first I'm a big fan (of the movies, not the new guy), and second I'm not really understanding this choice!

So, as you probably already know, Daniel Craig has been confirmed as the newest incarnation of the iconic spy James Bond. "I had a couple of martinis when I found out," Craig told reporters in London after being shuttled down the Thames to a Friday morning news conference by military boat. "It is a huge iconic figure in movie history, and those things don't come along very often," he said. If you ask me, I think it's not only Daniel who drank Martini, but also the director of the series when he selected him !

Barbara Broccoli and Martin Campbell, the producer and director of the upcoming installment to the spy series, called the fair-haired Craig" a superb actor who has all the qualities needed to bring a contemporary edge to the role." To give you my opinion, OK I know he's an actor, but as to superb... we'll see. I personally know not much about this guy, but he doesn't have the looks of a James Bond... at least not the way we've been used to for the first 5 James Bond guys. I don't know; I just don't feel him for this... but of course that's my opinion.

The selection was leaked earlier this week by British tabloids. The choice that shocked me, also shocked British bookmakers, who had favoured more prominent actors such as Jude Law, Clive Owen and Ewan McGregor for the role.

The 37-year-old actor – who has played mostly secondary roles in North American films but is better known in the U.K. – takes over from Irish actor Pierce Brosnan, who has played the special agent in the last four Bond movies. Craig is set to star in Casino Royale, the 21st Bond film scheduled for theatrical release in 2006.

Born in 1968, just as myself, in Chester and raised in Liverpool, - but I wasn't raised in Liverpool ;-) , Craig is well known to Britons for his role as Geordie in the BBC series Our Friends in the North. His film credits include The Power of One, Road to Perdition, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Sylvia, The Jacket and Layer Cake.

Eurovision 50th Anniversary "Congratulations" contest 2005

A total of 14 songs have been selected to take part in Congratulations, the special ESC 50th anniversary TV show organized on 22 October 2005.

The special two-hour celebration show will be broadcast live (21:00 CET) in over 25 countries across Europe. On the night, European viewers will televote to choose the most popular ESC song.

The 14 songs taking part in "Congratulations" were selected in the following way: fans across the world chose 10 of the songs by voting at eurovision.tv. An additional four wild card songs were picked by the ESC Reference Group.

The 14 songs are, in chronological order:

"Nel Blu Di Pinto di Blu or Volare" (Domenico Modugno, 1958, Italy)
"Poupée de Cire Poupée de Son" (France Gall, 1965, Luxembourg)
"Congratulations" (Cliff Richard), 1968, UK)
"Eres Tú" (Mocedades, 1973, Spain)
"Waterloo" (ABBA, 1974, Sweden)
"Save Your Kisses for Me" (Brotherhood of Man, 1976, UK)
"What’s Another Year" (Johnny Logan, 1980; Ireland)
"Ein Bisschen Frieden" (Nicole, 1982, Germany)
"Hold Me Now" (Johnny Logan, 1987, Ireland)
"Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi" (Céline Dion, 1988, Switzerland)
"Diva" (Dana International, 1998, Israel)
"Fly on the Wings of Love" (Olsen Brothers, 2000, Denmark
"Everyway That I Can" (Sertab Erener, 2003, Turkey)
"My Number One" (Helena Paparizou, 2005, Greece)

I'm happy to see "Waterloo (Abba)" and "Hold Me Now" (Johnny Logan) as finalists. It's a pity not to see other great songs such as "J'aime la vie" of the Belgian Sandra Kim (she is the youngest ever Eurovision winner at 13 years old in 1986); such a song has its place as a finalist better than Sertab Erener or Helena Paparizou.... but well votes were done on the internet... Anyhow, Eurovision Song Contest stars, including The Olsen Brothers (Joergen and Noller Olsen) and pop celebrities, will perform spectacular medleys of the most loved, most popular and most memorable moments from the Eurovision Song Contest.
