Star Radio Music Awards 2004

For a second year in a row, we created our annual Star Radio Music Awards. Last year, many cheating in the votes were encountered and this year we did our best to limit this to happen. Still, even with all the warnings, many fans cheated especially Anna Vissi and Despina Vandi fans... we were about to disqualify these 2 artists from the Nominations list but then again it's the fans who are cheating and not the Artists themselves.

Another thing noticed is that we had many many more voters last year probably because we didn't launch any advertising campaign + we limited the cheating ;-)

Anyhow, we always learn from our mistakes so we can always do better in the future.

To J.Lo or Not to J.Lo ?

That is the question?

Today, I read stuff about Jennifer Lopez here and there; some are nice and most are very tough and silly.... well, at least those I got to read... ok, first of all, I'm not a BIG fan and yes, she's not perfect, but who is? If you are, oh please almighty what are you still doin' here with us the poor sinners :-)

I saw her video last week 'Get Right' and I love it; it's just JLO. I also saw her on a TV show performing (along with the kid on the vid'; is it her kid ??).

I don't know, but this babe has got somethin'....yeah alright, a big butt... but the rest is not so bad, is it :-))) I mean if u know how to take the photo, forget about that part ;-)

Well, that's about it, just felt I'll drop my 2 words about JLo, so for me it's : "TO JLO; that is my answer". Feel Free to Drop your own comment (but let's keep this blogclean; no sarcasm) Don't forget you can listen to her latest single on Star Radio. Cheers, Brian

Top 100 Hits of 2004

For the second year in a row, we (at Star Radio) create a Top 100 Hits of the most wanted and listened to tracks on Star Radio.

This year, no surprise: Maroon 5 are Number 1 and by far ! BIG SURPRISE comes at N°s 2, 3, 4 and 9: 2 - Bosson / A little more time (Sweden) 3 - Summer love / Remember (Netherlands) 4 - Aquapura / 17 (Spain... I guess :-) .... 9 - Fabrizio Faniello / I'm in love (Malta)

These are Tracks that hit the N°1 position on STAR RADIO and stayed there for several weeks. Personally, "A Little More Time" and "Remember" are also of my own favorites for 2004.

I've been watching the NRJ Music Awards 2005

Well, it's time for a commercial break, so I thought I'd give you my impression - even if u don't care ;-) - about the NRJ Music Awards 2005 (happening in Midem, Cannes, France) up to now: - The Artists that are performing are Great: Usher, Anastasia, Corneille, k-maro, Nadiya, Jennifer Lopez...

- Anthony Kavanagh: a total flop tonight; what a mess! Better off without him next year. Ok, he's got some nice jokes, but most are stupid or irrelevant to the show tonight + he couldn't accept the joke from "The Queer" men and was very impolite with his reply

- The Awards do not reflect reality, but well it's NRJ and it's biased TF1 + Universal Music; I mean come on: Jenifer and Emma Daumas winning!

OK, time is up; I'll continue and I don't know if I'll still have any reason to write more about this year's NRJ Awards.

Why did I create an online Radio Station back in 2003 ?

In the early 80's, I started getting really addicted to Music; I was a teenager back then. I used to listen to hits by Abba, Imagination, Michael Jackson, Barry White, Depeche Mode and some french singers like Dalida, Joe Dassin, Aznavour... and so on. Ok, it might not be your kind of music, but well remember it's my blog :-)))

In 1986, along with Tony, a friend of mine, we created a radio station! Yes, it's a real FM radio station with short coverage (about 25 km) using a home-made transmitter (created by my uncle). Shortly, there were about 12 amateur DJs volunteers in our radio; some of these DJs became after that dear friends of mine (and still are). The radio adventure stopped after a few months for many reasons (legal stuff, money, annoying and stupid neighbors...).

In 1988, I joined Magic 102 FM which was back then the N°1 radio in the area. I spent many great years as a DJ in that radio (while I was still a student at the University).

But Brian HAD A DREAM ! That One Day, He Will Get His Own Station !
How? No idea; I just knew that "I had a Dream".

In 2002, I discovered Live365.com and then I knew that the dream could come true. My first attempt was a lazy one, and in 2 months I shut down the station.

On March 2003, I created Star Radio and a month later asked my brother if he would like to join. Why my brother? We shared the same dream since more than 15 years! So along with my brother, the dream became reality and we're still hanging on.

6 months after the launch of Star Radio and its website www.star-radio.net, Live365 selected Star Radio as an Editor's Pick; that was our first victory!

March 2004, hundreds of broadcasters were to select 5 nominees for each Genre. Star Radio's main genre is Pop (which is the Genre that holds the biggest number of online radios). Star Radio was selected as 1 of the 5 finalist nominees for the "Best Pop Radio Station Award 2004". It was unbelievable; I couldn't even dream of such a nomination. The Awards ceremony was held in San Francisco in May, but we didn't attend and we didn't win, but that's ok. In 1 year, we were qualified one of the best so that's all what counts.... even if we're not in it for that !

So now you know the story... and if you read to this point then it was not so boring... except if you're a friend of mine reading my posts just to make me happy :-)

Welcome to my blog; it's about today's Top 40 Hits and more !

Welcome EVERYONE to my blog; it's about today's Top 40 Hits and my own online radio station (that I own with my brother Alan).

I started this blog back in April 2004, but then didn't feel like I could spare sometime for it so it died fast! This is the first an attempt of a resurrection, but I'm not quite sure how many deaths and resurrections will this blog go through :-)

I've adapted the look and feel of my Blog to the one of my online station Star Radio. There might still be some errors to correct, but I'll correct them as the blog gets filled with posts - if ever ;-) Frankly, I don't know yet how people will find my blog and read my posts and participate. There will be a link from Star Radio, but with millions of blogs Hmm... I wonder... Anyway, if you're reading this line then you found me somehow :-) Enjoy my Hysteria ! Brian
